Mulobezi Town Council pays 628 beneficiaries under the Cash-for-Work (CFW) Program. To date, a total of K376,800 has been disbursed to 628 beneficiaries in Mulobezi district since the program started in September.
Each beneficiary is receiving K600 for every 10 days of work completed. This is a milestone for the Council which has faced inumerable challenges in paying beneficiaries.
These funds aim to provide financial relief while empowering residents to participate in developmental initiatives that benefit the entire district.
The Local Authority acknowledges delays in payments experienced earlier due to banking processing issues. However, this challenge has now been effectively resolved following the Ministry’s directive to engage mobile service providers for payments. This transition is expected to expedite the disbursement process, ensuring that beneficiaries receive their payments promptly and efficiently
To further streamline the payment process, Mulobezi Town Council has engaged 12 data clerks, these are tasked with verifying beneficiary lists and registered contact numbers to ensure accuracy and consistency in payment processing. This will enable the Finance Department to process payments more efficiently and reduce any potential discrepancies.
The Cash-for-Work program underscores Mulobezi Town Council’s commitment to fostering community development and economic empowerment. The program not only provides much-needed financial support to residents but also encourages active participation in local projects that enhance infrastructure and service delivery.
The Local Authority appreciates the continued cooperation of all stakeholders, including the Ministry, community leaders, and beneficiaries, in making this program a success. We remain committed to ensuring that all outstanding payments are processed and that every eligible beneficiary receives their entitlement.
