Information and Communication Technology (ICT) officers and the Public Relations Officer from Mulobezi Town Council are among the participants from various Local Authorities across Western, Lusaka, Southern and Eastern Provinces currently attending a training on Website Content Management and Cybersecurity at the Chalimbana Local Government Institute in Chongwe.
The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, through the ICT department and in partnership with the World Bank and SMART Zambia Institute under the Zambia Devolution Support Programme has organized this training. It provides hands-on experience in modern digital communication tools and website administration equipping participants with the necessary skills to effectively manage and update websites.
Yesterday, during Day 2 of the five-day training, Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development ICT Director, Ms. Judith Beene urged Local Authorities to make full use of their website platforms to strengthen communication, service delivery and public engagement.
She added that the websites should also serve as a platform to market their respective districts, showcase achievements and highlight key programmes to enhance visibility.
The training aims to enhance participants’ skills in managing, updating, and improving government and institutional websites for better information dissemination.
